ثم يتحدث عن علاقات عقيلة الحاسي بعائلات الجليل وطبرية، وعن صلاته المتقلبة بالدولة العثمانية وولاتها في دمشق وصيدا وبيروت وعكا، وعن علاقاته المريبة بالأوروبيين كحراسة البعثات الاستكشافية ومرافقة الرحالة الأوروبيين الذين كانوا يتقاطرون في تلك الفترة على فلسطين لأغراض شتى مثل بعثة وليم فرنسيس لينش التي وفر لها عقيلة الأمان في أثناء تنقلها بين غور الأردن والبحر الميت (1847-1848)
